In class we had to look at a short movie, and write down the fears of the little boy, and weird things that were going on in the movie.
In this short “movie”, the little boy seems to be afraid of going to school, but more precisely, I find that he looks scared of doing a sort of presentation. Throughout the short movie, we see his friends present, and we see him making sure that his presentation object is still in his pocket. He also seemed to be scared of meeting or seeing people. I get this impression because he was always trying to hide, or be alone.Then at one point, I got the feeling he didn’t want to see his “future” and how he turns out to be in life. He was in an office, and he was seeing pictures of his friends future, but when it came to be his, he wasn’t able to imagine or look at the picture of older him.
The story itself was weird, and it was under the style of surrealism , but it had a lot of very strange images. For example, when the bell rang, the young boy was the last one to leave his locker, and it looked like the school was like locked or something… and then, he bumped into a pole, that we couldn’t even see! Another weird thing is that the stairs in the school were going on forever, and they were going in squares.
Now, of course there were a lot of weird things, but if I had to name one last, I would have to say that the beginning part was one of the weirdest: every child came at school in train. You might now find it weird for now, but when you see that the train is actually a bunch of houses just stuck together, moving, I’m sure that now you find it weird!
